PHP 4 end of life announcement
More than three years ago since PHP 5 has been released and PHP 6 is on the way. Three years it has seen many improvements over PHP 4 and now PHP 5 is fast, stable & production-ready. On 13th July this year the developers at php.net, the official website of PHP, also announced that PHP 4 is end of life.
Nearly all Hosting Provider work with PHP 5 and this are the reasons why we decide to cancel the PHP 4 Support for TGS Content Management.
Until TGS Content Management 0.2.5r3 (the last official minor release) it supports official PHP 4, but with including the Template Engine und with the view to the new TGS Content Management Core now we decide to cancel the PHP 4 Support. The upcoming Release 0.3.0 will be probably the first version without PHP 4 Support. At the moment it is not clear, so maybe the 0.3.0 release will be the last version with PHP 4 Support. For documentation on migration for PHP 4 to PHP 5, we would like to point you to the php.net migration guide. There is additional information available in the PHP 5.0 to PHP 5.1 and PHP 5.1 to PHP 5.2 migration guides as well.
